Hear me when you come to me to pray. Hear my voice speak to you the words that speak life into your veins. I breathe life into your soul. I give you hope for a brand-new day. Each day come into my presence and let me speak my words of life to you. Be rejuvenated by my voice each day as you come to worship and listen to what I have to say.
Spend your time alone with me, far from the noise and confusion of the day. This is where you will hear from me and I will speak my instructions to you. This time and place are important for you to hear me well. Carving out this time for us is important for hearing me well. Many times, I talk to you in your coming and going, but this time is dedicated for hearing me loud and clear.
You say you want to hear from me, but you do not take the necessary time and effort to learn to hear my voice. How can you distinguish my voice from the voice of others if you do not take time to distinguish mine from theirs? This too, takes time and practice of abiding with me. You know the voice of your mother and father because of all the time you’ve spent with them. This is what you need to do in order for you to know me. Recognize my voice from other ones you’ve heard before. I will never lead you to do things that are contrary to my Word. I will only lead you onto the path I’ve created for you myself.
There are many paths you can take that I offer to you, but ask me which ones I desire most for you. Reconfigure your life and recalibrate your thinking to line up with the life that’s lived in me. Reestablish your priorities and put me first in all things. First in your day, first in your thoughts, first in all of your ways. When you put me first in everything you do, you will hear my voice loud and clear. Why wouldn’t I draw near to those who put me first? Why wouldn’t I lavish my love on those who love me well?
Remember whose you are and remember who I’ve made you to be. I created you to worship me in everything you do and in everything you see. I created your heart to continuously respond in worship and praise to me. Do not think there are boundaries to my love or that you can only go so far. For my love knows no boundaries with the ones that I love. So, come to me in the evening or the beginning of your day and carve out the necessary time alone where you can come and pray.
