Speak to me like you would a brother. Share your heart fully with me. Confess the things that are your deepest desires and share your hopes and dreams. Come and sit by my side and rest here a while and lean your head on my shoulder. Remain here with me and confide the things that are hidden deep within your heart. Let the things that held you down in the past rest here with me. I can handle your let-downs and I can handle the pain within your heart. There’s nothing you cannot tell me that would pull you apart from me.
I am your confidant, your counselor, your friend, and I am with you to the very end. I will never leave you or forsake you or cause your confidence in me to be shaken. I will never drop the ball on you or leave you hanging. I am the closest friend you will ever have. Don’t forsake our meeting together. Don’t leave me hanging either. You and I were meant for each other and meant to work together for all eternity.
Come to me and receive my orders. Come and hear the things that are on my heart. There is so much more in store for your life. You’ve been thinking, “Is this all there is?” But I am telling your heart that there is! I have wonderful plans laid out for your life so come to me and receive. Come to me in prayer upon your knees and spend time in worship with me. Let me cleanse your heart and cleanse your mind of everything that hinders you and holds you back from serving me. Do not let the things of this world entangle you with its webs. You were made for so much more and it doesn’t look like this.
There is so much more in store for those who completely surrender their lives to me. Those who walk away from their life of sin will be rewarded with so much more. Come to me and open your hands and let me cleanse and restore you for my Kingdom’s sake. Some have lived with strongholds of sin for years and years and years. And I say it’s time to break free from those chains that have held you down. Release those sins to me and let me break those curses off of you and set your life free. No longer will you be tortured by sin and held captive in this same place year after year. Let go of it and never return to this sin again. This is what repentance is.
Let your life in me begin and never return to your life of sin. Let those things that held you down never be allowed to latch onto you again. You are mine and I will lead you to a new beginning with me. Together we will walk into a new journey that is free of the entanglement of sin. Nothing will hold you back from walking freely with me. There’s a new horizon waiting for you, so let’s be on our way again. No curses will ever hold you back unless you pick them up again. I have done the work for you, so I leave this choice up to you. You decide whether to wallow in your sins or become a new creation in me. I would never leave you behind, but you must choose to follow me.
Matthew 11:28-30 The Voice
28 Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Put My yoke upon your shoulders—it might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.
John 14:16-18 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever— 17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.
Hebrews 12:1 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition
12 Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us.
Proverbs 26:11 The Voice
11 Like a dog who goes back to his own vomit,
so is a fool who always returns to his foolishness.
John 19:28-30 New Living Translation
28 Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips. 30 When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
