Scared memories and the things of the past don’t have to remain in relationship with me. These things that have taken place, have no place in your life with me. These memories may be etched in your mind, but they do not have a place to reside in your heart. My sacrifice at the cross provides the cleansing you need. Nothing is too hard for me. The things that trouble you have no authority over you and these thoughts and feelings must be laid at my feet and given up to me.
You remain locked in a moment when you review these things in your mind. You remain a prisoner to the things of your past. I have set you free from anything that would hold you down or suppress your life in me. Do not cling to the memories of your past like a warm blanket surrounding you. You are free in me, but you must take the authority I’ve given you and break off these memories and actions of the past. If you continue to hold onto your past and hold it close to you, you can never be fully free to live rightly in me.
These memories keep you caged and restricted from freely moving forward in me. You are like a chained animal only able to move so far forward. I want to break those chains and give you wings to fly. I want to see you soaring and swooping on the free air I provide.
Come to me and lay these things at my feet and let me heal your mind from all the false things you believe. There is no condemnation when you bring these things to me. I will forgive you and cleanse you as you come on bended knees. There’s no shadow of turning in shame from me. I have died so that all that may be cleansed and redeemed. I want you to be able to look me in the face, not turning your head in shame and disgrace.
I am your Father, who dearly loves you and nothing can separate my love for you. Nothing will pull me apart from you. I created you in my image and you are my beloved child. Resist your natural urge to run and hide, and run to me instead and sit by my side. Be close to me and let me show you how to fly. Let me hold your hand through the process of forgiveness and show you what must be repented of. These things don’t need to remain and must be repented of so we can move forward together as one.
Bring each memory to me and repent of ever having anything to do with these. Even if these things were done out of an evil heart to you, repent of letting them having a hold on you. I take care of the other person’s sins and you cannot have control over them. This is my territory and not your place of authority. Release these incidents and people to me and place them back at my feet. I will take care and see that you are redeemed.
The blessing of not living in the past, frees you to become one and the same with me. You no longer have to be chained to things that continue to trip you up in the present. You are free to be all that I’ve called and appointed you to be in this life. There is so much more awaiting you as you move forward in me. Forgive those who have sinned against you and live the life that you were meant to live in me.
The wings of an eagle I give to you, to fly and soar in my Spirit that I’ve released to you. Nothing holding you hostage or holding you back, to live the life you were meant to live. So, come to me now on bended knee and experience true life that’s lived in me.

8 Therefore, now no condemnation awaits those who are living in Jesus the Anointed, the Liberating King, 2 because when you live in the Anointed One, Jesus, a new law takes effect. The law of the Spirit of life breathes into you and liberates you from the law of sin and death. 3 God did something the law could never do. You see, human flesh took its toll on God’s law. In and of itself, the law is not weak; but the flesh weakens it. So, to condemn the sin that was ruling in the flesh, God sent His own Son, bearing the likeness of sinful flesh, as a sin offering. 4 Now we are able to live up to the justice demanded by the law. But that ability has not come from living by our fallen human nature; it has come because we walk according to the movement of the Spirit in our lives. 5 If you live your life animated by the flesh—namely, your fallen, corrupt nature—then your mind is focused on the matters of the flesh. But if you live your life animated by the Spirit—namely, God’s indwelling presence—then your focus is on the work of the Spirit. 6 A mind focused on the flesh is doomed to death, but a mind focused on the Spirit will find full life and complete peace. 7 You see, a mind focused on the flesh is declaring war against God; it defies the authority of God’s law and is incapable of following His path. 8 So it is clear that God takes no pleasure in those who live oriented to the flesh.
Colossians 3:12-14 The Passion Translation
12You are always and dearly loved by God! So, robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others. 13Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them. 14For love is supreme and must flow through each of these virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity.
