My death on the cross bought you your freedom. My death on the cross broke off the chains that held your life a captive to death and the grave. My death on the cross has set you free. Free to live for all eternity with me. Free from the strongholds and the pitfalls of sin. You walk in freedom today because of all I did for you.
You see the pitfalls of sin again and again. You do not have to step into that sin. You have the power of my Spirit living within you to turn away every temptation of sin. Yet, time and time again you don’t even ask for my assistance, you simply walk right into the trap of sin. Do you fully understand what I saved you from? You would not easily choose this way if you understood fully just what I did.
Take some time to delve into my Word. Ask my Spirit to lead you and guide you through my scriptures. Ask him to open your eyes to see all that I have made possible for you. Understand the depth of your sin, understand all that I have gone through on your behalf. There’s so much more that you have not seen.
Rejoice in me for all I have done for you. See the things I have brought you through. Rejoice that I have delivered you from a kingdom of darkness full of hopelessness and despair. See the depth of evil at work in the world and see that you no longer have to be a part of it. You have not only been delivered from it, but you are seated with me far, far, above and beyond it. The traps of sin and the path that leads you to a horrible death, has been removed from you and you are blessed with new life instead.
Let the things of this world pass you by for something much greater and greener. There are far greener pastures even on this side of Heaven that await you. Leave your sinful path behind you and have nothing to do with it ever again. You can’t keep living with one foot in and one foot fumbling in the world. Are you with me or not? Have you allowed yourself to be so deceived that you believe the enemy over me? What do you believe? Do you even know me? Come to me and drop everything you’re doing and seek me out with your whole heart.
Forget not who your first love is and who gave you new life so that you could live. Forget not all the promises I’ve made to cover and protect you. Forget not the choice you made to find and follow me. It is I, who gave you chance after chance after chance, just so you could be cleansed and live in my peace. Would you throw all that away just to continue to walk in your sin? What is your salvation worth to you? What will it take to bring you back to your senses? You know the ways that are right for you, so take the time to come upon your knees and humble yourself before me. This is your first step of being delivered and being set free.
Proverbs 5:22 The Voice
22 The wicked will be snared by their own wrongdoing.
Their flaws will tie their own hands, and they will be dragged through life by the cords of their sins.
Romans 6:1-4 The Voice
6 How should we respond to all of this? Is it good to persist in a life of sin so that grace may multiply even more? 2 Absolutely not! How can we die to a life where sin ruled over us and then invite sin back into our lives? 3 Did someone forget to tell you that when we were initiated into Jesus the Anointed through baptism’s ceremonial washing, we entered into His death? 4 Therefore, we were buried with Him through this baptism into death so that just as God the Father, in all His glory, resurrected the Anointed One, we, too, might walk confidently out of the grave into a new life.
Romans 6:12-14 The Voice
12 Don’t invite that insufferable tyrant of sin back into your mortal body so you won’t become obedient to its destructive desires. 13 Don’t offer your bodily members to sin’s service as tools of wickedness; instead, offer your body to God as those who are alive from the dead, and devote the parts of your body to God as tools for justice and goodness in this world. 14 For sin is no longer a tyrant over you; indeed, you are under grace and not the law.
Colossians 1:13-14 New Living Translation
13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, 14 who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.
Revelation 2:4 New Life Version
4 But I have this one thing against you. You do not love Me as you did at first.
